After 20+ years our deck was looking pretty bad. Ivan came and looked over the deck and made some suggestions for structural improvements that the original contractor had overlooked. The whole team were excellent at letting us know when they would be working on the project and made sure to cover everything with plastic sheeting to prevent overspray from the areas that were sprayed. The company did an outstanding job at refinishing a 25 year old deck. The carpentry work was very good and complete; the deck was a difficult job requiring it to be sanded by hand at least 6 times to ensure that the material would adhere and stay presentable.
The employee's were professional, always taking time to inform what stage the job was at, what they were doing and what was coming next. They worked long hours on this job and were tremendous. The leadership of the teams was outstanding. I recommend this company. It has added at least 5 to maybe 10 years of life to my deck.
I scheduled an estimate with this company in July and a employee (said he was part owner) came to the house and gave what seemed like a fair price to complete the work. I called him back and left two separate messages saying I was interested in moving forward on the project - I finally got a phone call back saying he would e-mail me a copy of the contract and schedule a time to sign it soon. Didn't hear from him for the next few weeks. Left two more messages. Finally received a phone call back saying, "Sorry, we are unable to complete the work at your house because the estimate is too low." What kind of business is this?
Deck Guard just completed work on my deck and we love it! The gentlemen who came to give us an estimated were punctual, informative and polite. They took measurements of the deck, check the quality of the boards and structure. I was told how the process was done and within a few minutes I had my estimate. Although Deck Guard was higher then another estimate we received, because of their knowledge and professionalism I felt I would be getting a better job - and that proved to be true. I would recommend them to anyone who wants to improve their deck.
